Keith Moon died on this day, September 8th, 30 years ago.
It is easy to say he is missed dearly.
It is harder to say how much he is missed. It is so damn hard to put into words.
And maybe I'm slow on the up rise, but today hit me like a slap on the face. It was just like "Hey man, your idols; they're dead or dying."
But maybe they're not dying. Maybe it's people like me and Sarah and Alex and Grace and so many of you that keep them alive. Maybe they know how much they're missed.
He was a phenomenal drummer and his music still lives on.

RIP Keith

Author's Comments

This may not be anything to you.
But it's everything to me.
And my lack of words inhibits my writing. I am sorry.
I don't even think you can call this a piece of writing, but it means a lot to me.
Maybe I'll submit something phenomenally worded later, but right now I'm to sad.

This is beautiful, touching, perfect.

I wish i was a Warhol silkscreen
Hanging on the wall
Or Little Joe, or maybe Lou
I'd love to be them all.
Then all New York City's broken hearts
And secrets would be mine
I'd put you on a movie reel
And that would be just fine.

I wrote something kind of like this on one of the groups I'm in on livejournal.
I was kind of depressed on that day too. In Moonie's honor, I had a drink, because I really don't know any other way to honor him lol.
I'm just glad I didn't get overly wasted because usually when I've said I'm drinking in his honor I get entirely too drunk.

But seriously. It's sad he's gone and I feel a bit silly missing someone I never actually met, and who was gone by the time I was born anyway. ^^;

I didn't write anything on Livejournal, but now that I think about it I feel I should have...
Lol. A drink seems to honour Moonie fine. I would've had a drink, but I'm underage.

Yes, I feel silly, too, but I really do miss him. And I do miss my favourite rock stars that are alive, too. I get sad when I think of their age.

Thank you so much.
I had trouble expressing my feelings and words, but I felt that putting something out there would be the least I can do.

I can't even begin to imagine what sort of state I'm going to be in when any of my current favorite musicians die. I'm going to be a crying wreck, sitting at home listening to their music all day.
That's one thing I hate about being kind of young. I'm going to live to see all my favorite musicians die. I hate it.

Yeah. I dread that more than anything in the world. I would probably be put on suicide watch by my parents because they fear I would do something drastic.
Maybe I'll become a Rock Star, too, and do something drastic.

Better yet, let's become rock stars together so we can do drastic things, with company!

Hooray!! Sounds like a plan!
And we need to pretend that we're into writing operas or musical. Cause everybody seems addicted to doing that. Like Pete Townshend... and David Bowie.
